Eight Directions

罗盘以二十八宿、二十四山与八卦层层相叠，刻度之间，是古人观天察地的方法。本罗盘全部按南半球排布：离在北，坎在南，子在南，午在北。点选一卦，罗盘便转向它所对应的方位，主题色也随五行流转。Twenty-eight lunar mansions, twenty-four mountains and the eight trigrams: the compass layers the ways the ancients read heaven and earth. This compass follows the Southern Hemisphere layout throughout: Li in the north, Kan in the south, and the Zi branch in the south. Choose a trigram and it turns to face that direction, its colour shifting with the element.

风水，本质是对环境变化的研究。山川、河流与建筑，短期看似不动，长期却都在变迁。居正结合现代物理学与古典堪舆，解读墨尔本楼宇与街区背后的气场流转。

At heart, feng shui is the study of how environments change. Landforms, rivers and buildings seem fixed in the short term, yet all shift over time. Master Prosper combines modern physics with classical geomancy to read the energy flowing through Melbourne’s buildings and neighbourhoods.

Aurora Melbourne Central

动土煞：CBD 公寓的隐形变数Construction Sha: The Hidden Variable in CBD Apartments

诸多风水问题之中，动土煞影响最大。破土动工，好比给大地做一场“开膛破肚”的手术，气场激荡，凶险自然异常。

极光楼（Aurora）与香格里拉（Shangri-La）：极光楼近期因邻近地铁站施工，动土煞显著，物业管理屡出大问题。居正在墨尔本的两位朋友，一位曾住香格里拉，一位住在 State Library 北侧的公寓，都因周边大面积动土而遭遇交通事故，受伤入院。

Elizabeth St 的 WWS Metro 火灾：该超市前不久突发火灾，恰逢其北侧 Franklin St 大兴土木。南半球的北方属“火”，北侧动土牵动火气，极易引发火灾。

EQ Tower：几年前因几起不幸事件，被坊间传为“风水不佳”。随着邻近的 Uno 等大楼竣工，动土煞消散，此后再无负面新闻。可见问题不在大楼本身，而在阶段性的动土干扰。

Of all feng shui afflictions, Construction Sha (动土煞) is the most disruptive. Breaking ground is like major surgery on the land: it unsettles the local energy field and releases volatile risk.

Aurora and Shangri-La: Aurora has recently suffered serious management problems, with heavy excavation under way for the nearby metro station. Two of Master Prosper’s friends, one who lived at the Shangri-La and one in an apartment north of the State Library, were both hospitalised after traffic accidents, each amid large-scale construction nearby.

The Elizabeth St WWS Metro fire: The supermarket caught fire not long after major construction began on Franklin St, to its north. In the Southern Hemisphere, north belongs to Fire, and breaking ground there stirs fire energy, inviting blazes.

EQ Tower: Years ago, a run of unfortunate events earned it a reputation for “bad feng shui”. Once neighbouring towers such as Uno were completed, the Construction Sha faded and the bad news stopped. The building was never the problem; the surrounding construction was.

WSP B 栋：真的“风水不好”吗？WSP Building B: Is It Really “Bad Feng Shui”?

West Side Place（WSP）是墨尔本最知名的公寓之一，常有传言说它“气场混乱”，B 栋更屡有不幸。有人归咎于毗邻 Southern Cross 火车站，磁场受扰。

居正以现代数理逻辑回应：若真是车站的问题，离车站更近的 PT 公寓为何安然无事？Swanston St 一侧更靠近车站的 A、D 栋为何平静，偏偏 Little Lonsdale St 一侧的 B 栋频频出事？

真正的原因是“天斩煞”与空气动力学。B 栋东北侧与邻近高楼之间留有一道窄缝，形成天然风道。依据伯努利原理与文丘里效应，强风穿过狭窄通道时风速骤增，形成破坏力极强的气流，直冲 B 栋部分户型。古典风水称之为“天斩煞”，说到底，是气流对人体与居所的剧烈物理冲击。

West Side Place (WSP) is one of Melbourne’s best-known apartment complexes. Rumour has it that its energy is chaotic and that Building B suffers a string of misfortunes, often blamed on “magnetic disturbance” from the nearby Southern Cross Station.

Master Prosper answers with simple logic. If the station were the cause, why is the closer PT building untouched? Why are Buildings A and D, nearer the station on Swanston St, calm, while Building B on Little Lonsdale St is not?

The real cause is Tianzhan Sha and airflow. A narrow gap between Building B’s north-east side and its neighbouring towers forms a natural wind tunnel. By Bernoulli’s principle and the Venturi effect, wind accelerates sharply through the gap and strikes certain units with destructive force. Classical feng shui calls this “Tianzhan Sha”; in plain terms, it is a violent physical blow from the wind.

NEO 200

NEO 200：火险之象NEO 200: A Fire-Risk Formation

风水中，三角形尖锐上指，形如火焰，属“火”。对面这栋楼采用下宽上窄的火焰状灯光，再配上镜面玻璃幕墙，火的意象被进一步放大。正对着它的 200 Spencer St（NEO Tower），在风水上因此更易受火灾隐患影响。

In feng shui, the triangle, sharp and pointing upward like a flame, stands for Fire. The building opposite uses flame-shaped lighting, wide at the base and tapering upward, and mirrored glass walls that intensify the image. NEO Tower at 200 Spencer St, which faces it directly, is therefore thought to carry a higher fire risk.

墨尔本各区风水一览Melbourne’s Suburbs at a Glance

Doncaster 与“龙脉”的误解：“龙”是峦头派的常用术语，指山脉水流的走向、地形地貌与地质运动，与古代帝王无关，也不等于必然兴旺。龙有进龙、回龙、福龙，也有弱龙、死龙、病龙，别被电影里夸张的“帝国命脉”误导。

“西贱东贵”的地理真相：人们常说西区资产偏低、东区偏贵，背后有地理与洋流的缘由。南半球洋流逆时针旋转，东海岸承受西风与西南风激起的巨大浪能，多悬崖峭壁；西海岸处于背风面，浪能低，以平缓的泥滩与湿地为主。墨尔本东区在早期殖民的冲击与雅拉河的助力下发展得快而激进，西区起步虽晚，却代表新时代平和稳健的扩张。

Toorak 与 Kew（富人区的风水密码）：这两区在刚过去的八运（2004–2024 年）里发展极快。它们与 Mornington 半岛相似，西北方见水，更坐落在雅拉河最曲折、层层环抱之处。风水有云：“曲水有情，环抱聚财。”蜿蜒绕抱的水，是上等的聚财之水。

Footscray（反弓无情）：Footscray 的气场截然不同。它位于雅拉河转弯的外侧，内侧为“环抱有情”，外侧则是被水流不断冲刷甩出的“反弓无情”。况且八运期间西北见水旺财、东南见水破财，而 Footscray 的主要水域恰在其东南。

Docklands（纳气化煞的未来）：人们不看好 Docklands，是因为八运时它西北无屏障，菲利普港湾又在其南，水位方位不配；缺少屏障，常年风大，所谓“大海茫茫，家破人亡”。然而自 2024 年起进入九运（2024–2044 年），人口稳步增长，新建高层配备先进的防风设计，疾风被疏解，大局已成“受气纳气”之势，繁荣可期。

Doncaster and the “dragon vein” myth: In the Form School, “dragon” simply means the course of ridges and rivers, the shape of the land and geological movement. It has nothing to do with emperors, and does not guarantee prosperity. There are rising, returning and fortunate dragons, and also weak, dead and sickly ones. Don’t be misled by the cinematic “imperial lifeline”.

The geography of “poor West, rich East”: The Southern Hemisphere’s ocean currents rotate counter-clockwise, so eastern coasts take the full force of westerly and south-westerly waves and form cliffs, while western coasts lie leeward, calm, with mudflats and wetlands. Melbourne’s East grew fast and hard under early colonial momentum and the Yarra; the West started later and stands for steady, modern growth.

Toorak and Kew (the wealth code): Both surged during Period 8 (2004–2024). Like the Mornington Peninsula, they have water to the north-west, and they sit on the Yarra’s most winding, embracing bends. As the saying goes, “winding water has feeling; an embracing curve gathers wealth.”

Footscray (the ruthless reverse bow): Its energy is entirely different. It lies on the outer curve of the Yarra’s bend, where water scours and throws things off, the “reverse bow”. And in Period 8, north-west water brought wealth while south-east water drained it; Footscray’s main water lies to its south-east.

Docklands (turning wind into qi): Doubters point out that in Period 8 it had no barrier to the north-west and the bay lay to its south, so its water was badly placed. With no shelter, strong winds blow all year. But since 2024, in Period 9 (2024–2044), population is rising steadily and new towers use advanced wind-mitigation design. The gusts are being dispersed and the area is learning to gather qi, a promising outlook.
